Exercising is a great way to alleviate stress. It also stimulates brain activity patterns that are associated with meditation and relaxation."
There are many ways to work out instead of just having to go to the gym. Just to name a few. Riding your bike, (while enjoying a breeze) is nice. Going out dancing could help take stress away as well.
